Betsey Johnson

Betsey Johnson began her career in the 1960s, musing and designing costumes with her house model Edie Sedgwick. Forty-five years later her enthusiasm has not waned. It is clear that Betsey has the most fun during Fashion Week, and her show is truly an worth anticipating.

That evening gyrating models armed with sultry grins and saucy sex appeal shook the Lincoln Center Theatre. She branded her name on the back of each model’s thigh, but for those several minutes Betsey possessed us all.

Animal prints and florals, push up bras and lighting bolts all combined
to create her signature look.  Piles of sterling silver charms and studs were worn like choker dog collars and a small key dangling from a long chain between cradled breasts begged the question, “what does that unlock?”
